today’s look: falling for fall

This summery look certainly has nothing that would say ‘fall’, weren’t it for the fact that the bib necklace is from Zara’s new fall 2012 collection. Go check it out if you will, I’m in love with many fabulous pieces. Blouse: Zara Pants: H&M Leather heels: vintage Burgundy tote: Zara

today’s look: totally tribal

(more pictures below) Tweet Most people would probably call this borderline, I’m all the more in love with it. Clashing prints can make the most amazing look, and I think that’s what happens here. My heart starts beating a little faster, my smile widens and my eyes just glow. Skirt is vintage batik, leather shoes are Asos, necklaces are vintage, Marni x H&M and from India. Bangles are Mango, Primark and I am.

today’s party look: black and gold

Tweet After a few weeks of wintersleep, December never has been my most productive month, I’ve pulled myself together to finish the year 2011 with a bang! As the holidays are approaching I’ll be showing you different ways to wear party clothes. Hope you enjoy it! I, for one, never get tired of a good ol’ gold and black-combo. Of course, what makes this look is this fabulous large sequined lace collar. It’s my latest ‘find’ and I absolutely love it. Here, I’ve put it partly under the dress, or else it would be a bit overpowering. The gorgeous little black dress with a pleated back is by Zara as is the bag, the ring is H&M and the heels are Nelly. Na een paar weken winterslaap, november en december zijn niet mijn meest productieve maanden, ben ik klaar om

today’s look: tiny bows and flowers

Tweet I’m feeling a bit gypsy-like today. Since my neon yellow leather bag hasn’t arrived yet, I’ve deferred to using this lovely tiny leather Mulberry one. I’ve paired the vintage skirt with a cute top with tiny bows from H&M. A beaded statement necklace adds to the circus/gypsy-feel this outfit has.

today’s look: beads ‘n bows

Tweet Today I’m wearing a statement necklace I’ve been looking to use for a long time. I’m not a very pink or purple girl so it took me a while to find something that I love and goes with the necklace as well. This vintage striped jacket is perfect, very nicely tailored, stylish, I can very well work this jacket. I took this gorgeous semi transparant white bow blouse (the bow I leave untied), my black sequined leggings, lace socks, Asos heels and a lovely leather vintage purse.

how to wear: chunky accessories

(click pictures for larger view) Tweet I think accessories are a great tool to show the world who you are. Oftentimes accessories are like art to me and, used wisely, they can elevate the most simple look and transform it into a marvelous masterpiece. A few pointers: * on repeat here: don’t overdo! You don’t want to be compared to a Christams tree. * look for a bit of contrast. A chunky ring or necklace with a romantic dress, a leather bag or cuff with a lace skirt, you get it. * make sure everything (including you!) gets the attention it deserves. Sometimes accessories can build up (as seen on the second picture) but often enough really is enough. * one way to build a look around your accessories is to start by picking a piece you’d really like to

how to wear: a statement necklace

Statement necklaces can cause a bit of doubt: isn’t this too much? Won’t I look like a Christmas tree? The fact of the matter is that it’s rather easy to wear a statement necklace in different ways, and that’s good news as life isn’t always a fancy party or a warm, sunny day. Check out these looks for some new inspiration. Things to keep in mind: -don’t overdo! A big chunky necklace and bold earrings hardly ever go together. -prints are for pro’s. Be careful when you mix a bold or busy print with a statement necklace. -a statement necklace can elevate your look and make it more interesting. Grote opvallende kettingen kunnen je doen twijfelen: is dit teveel? Ik wil er niet uitzien als een kerstboom… Feit is dat het niet zo moeilijk is een opvallende ketting goed te
