today’s look: darling dior

Tweet I bought this leather Christian Dior clutch last week and I’m so happy I found it. It’s very rare, in very good condition and so chic! I made two versions of this look, this one with heels and another, more casual, one, which I’ll be posting tomorrow. Jeans, jacket and leather belt – H&M Top – vintage Shoes – Asos

today’s look: gorgeous from greece

Tweet This is one of my favorite vintage dresses, from Greece. I love the colors, the fabric, the print and the classic cut. The leather peeptoe heels are Zara, the necklace I custom myself (vintage necklace and vintage butterfly brooch), the red bangle is vintage and the wood and yellow bangle and red patent look clutch are from Steps, a Dutch brand.

vintage shopping in paris

Thanks to this great Guide to vintage shopping in Paris I was perfectly prepared for my vintage hunt in Paris. I’ll be travelling to Paris some more this year, for this trip I picked a few shops in the 4th arrondissement so I could get my vintage-fix and my husband wouldn’t go totally crazy waiting around in cafe’s all day. Lucky me, I found some more while going from shop to shop. I started at Come on Eileen, which is actually in the 11th arr, close to the 4th on 20 Rue Rivoli. But it was closed, to my shock and horror because the window alone made me want to spend an entire afternoon just digging and gasping and buying. At least I’m sure which shop is my first stop the next time I’m in Paris. On to the next!

today’s look: green love

Tweet For quite some years, green has been my favorite color. I do love about every color there is, but green tops them all. A rich, emerald green piece of clothing, a shiny green scarf or a green suede bag just makes my heart jump, instantly. This green pair of leggings by Versace x H&M just raise the bar a little. Love green x love prints = more to love! This outfit is a perfect layered one for spring, when it gets warm during the day I take the scarf or the jacket off. The dress is H&M, the heels Zara, the leather jacket I bought in a Dutch boutique and the bag is a black leather vintage one I bought in Paris last week.

what I’m packing for paris

click images for larger view Tweet I have to admit: for me, anticipatory pleasure is one of the best things about going away. Be it a camping trip to Italy, France and Austria, a fabulous beach vacation in a fancy hotel overseas or, this time, a romantic weekend to Paris, I’m ‘on high’ weeks beforehand. Without a doubt, thinking up outfits when laying in bed at night, picking out jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bikini’s are some of the things I never grow tired of. For this Paris trip color was a big thing, it’s almost spring everywhere and spring chose Paris for a full-on visit! (25C / 77F) As for jewelry: I always pick a lot more than I need as I love and need options. (For example, this time I managed to use only one, yes I repeat one!, pair

life & the art of enjoyment

Tweet Much has been written about life and all the questions surrounding this interesting phenomenon. What is life? To be or not to be, is that the question? For me, a major part of life is about enjoying it. Enjoying the good things that come with life: the lessons, people, love, nature, books, buildings, art and, ofcourse, fashion. Enjoyment in itself is free, how wonderful is that. Every human being can enjoy a brand new day, a beautiful sky, a smile on someone’s face, a beautiful song, the wind or the rain on dry land. So I guess it’s true: life is what we make of it, and that goes for enjoyment too. I more and more try to embrace the saying ‘Carpe Diem’, because life is too short. That means I do wear that red dress and put on

today’s look: better brown

Tweet I love my fair share of brown, as I do almost all colors. There’s nothing like an outfit with a few different shades of brown, add some texture and a bit of bling…. Love it! These days, when the temperature slowly rises and promises a bit more of spring every day, I find it perfect to wear shorts with tights and just a jacket when I go outside. (provided I’m not ill, which, unfortunately, I am.) These lace shorts go perfectly with my satin Yves Saint Laurent top, a fabulous dark brown vintage jacket, a vintage bowling bag and my chunky suede heels. I just love wrapping myself in these warm colors one last time before I’m saying goodbye to my winter wardrobe again, soon!

today’s look: check please!

Tweet I love how this look came together. I was looking for shoes and saw these boots in my closet. I bought them about 8 years ago, have worn them a couple of times, will probably never get rid of them because I love them, they’re timeless and so classy. The pointy toes and sock-like shaft just do it for me. So I’ve paired them with my red Mango trousers and vintage top, I feel they’re just so perfect together that I wouldn’t dare separate them. (See this look ‘Perfectly Paris‘) I added this H&M jacket I just got, grabbed the snake print clutch that was right in front of me, prepared my camera and like 1-2-3, finished, probably, in under 30 minutes. Let me tell you: things can take much, much longer. I love the slightly androgynous take on

today’s look: pretty pastels

Tweet I’m a big fan of green, and this pretty pastel green is very Chanel to me. The skirt is vintage, booties are Asos, jacket and orange necklace are H&M. I’m wearing different pieces of vintage custom jewelry: a white milkglass bracelet, a rhinestone ring, a Japanese pearl beaded collar and a small vintage necklace. This look was in danger of becoming too matchy-matchy, that’s why I chose the snakeprint clutch for balance.

today’s look: goodbye gorgeous

Tweet I’ve sold my gorgeous vintage black box Kelly (35) so there will be room for a new Hermes piece of art and today I’m saying goodbye. I feel this fabulous look does justice to this beautiful piece of craftsmanship one last time, it’s a bit demure but still has lots of fabulousness. The pants are Topshop, top is vintage and faux fur vest is H&M.

today’s look: animal adagio

Tweet I love this comfortable H&M sweater with different animals on it. I’ll be showing you different ways to wear it. Today I chose a simple pair of black pleated pants, high shoe boots and my vintage crocodile skin clutch. Not often do I wear an outfit without accessories and/or jewelry but I decided the sweater should get all the attention, plus, it’s casual Friday. Have a great weekend!

today’s look: a different dress
